Get students to #RegisterToVote with @BiteTheBallot

It is vital that young people both register to vote and understand the need to vote. The more young people vote, the more likely it is that governments will create policies that favour them and their education.

This year’s National Voter Registration Drive (‘NVRD’) will see inspiring events and activities take place in schools and sixth-form colleges between 1-5 February 2016.

Bite The Ballot’s democracy toolkit, ‘The Basics’, is a (1 hour) interactive session, and a fun and simple way of sparking debates about politics, challenging misconceptions and understanding the power of participation. A short facilitator’s guide – and accompanying video – can be found here.

Please try and get this session to happen in your school or college. Forward the information to head teachers and PSCHEE co-ordinators.

If you’re interested in taking part in NVRD 2016, please email btb@nut.org.uk with your name, email address and the name of your school or college. Bite The Ballot will then be in touch with updated resources and details of how to order an NVRD Campaign Pack.
